Four months — the search. This is when the atelier hunts. A singular stone matching a specific brief surfaces on the market’s schedule, not yours; four months of margin is what makes the hunt calm instead of desperate. Viewings happen here — papers first, stones second.

The ring should be the calmest object in the room by the time the question is asked.

Two months — the decision. Stone chosen, setting commissioned, engraving decided. Custom work at proper quality wants six to eight weeks; rush fees buy speed but never buy back serenity.

Two weeks — possession. Ring delivered, insured, hidden somewhere the intended has no jurisdiction. Final reconnaissance of the venue. From here, the only remaining work is the sentence — and that one, no desk can write for you.
