Five carats, pear shape — carat for carat the most generous outline in the vault. Certified, hand-selected.

Carat for carat, the pear gives more visible stone than any other shape in the vault. At five carats that advantage is unmistakable: the outline runs the length of the finger and the point carries the eye onward, so the ring reads considerably larger than a round of the same weight. These are certified five-carat pears, each judged on belly, point and symmetry.
Because its weight is spread along a longer axis rather than packed into depth. The same five carats cut as a round would sit smaller face-up and deeper in the setting.
With the point protected — a V-tip is standard, because that is the one vulnerable place on the stone. Beyond that, the mount should stay quiet; a shape this expressive does not need help.
